Product Facts

AlboleneŽ Moisturizing Cleanser has been well-known for decades as an effective and gentle makeup remover, especially for hard-to-remove "waterproof" and "smudge-proof" cosmetics. Used regularly by Broadway stars and others who regularly apply heavy makeup that needs gentle removal, this dermatologist-recommended, moisturizing cleanser liquefies on contact with skin to thoroughly dissolve makeup, dirt and environmental grime.

However, not only is it a great makeup remover and facial cleanser, but Albolene has been clinically proven for the treatment of mild to moderate eczema. A new study in the March 2009 issue of the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology found Albolene to be as effective as a prescription moisturizer for eczema, for a fraction of the price and with ease of availability (you can find it pretty much on any drug store shelf; click here to see what stores carry Albolene). Albolene works by temporarily reducing the transepidermal water loss (TEWL) until the barrier is restored, minimizing the signs and symptoms of eczema comparably to the prescription product.

Albolene contains mineral oil, petrolatum, paraffin, ceresin and beta-carotene. It is available in six- and 12-ounce containers in both scented and unscented formulas. Unlike some of its cleansing competitors, Albolene has a higher moisturizing content, making it possible to use on a daily basis, without feel of drying of the skin.

If suffering from mild/moderate eczema, liberally apply Albolene twice daily over the dry skin patches to help moisturize the skin. Moisturization is necessary for treating eczema, which affects millions. For moderate eczema, apply a topical corticosteroid along with the Albolene. Discuss with your physician.
